With X'mas and New Year celebrations over, it is time to prepare for Chinese New Year which is 3 weeks away.  I will round up the food that we had during the festive seasons before new rounds of baking and preparation begins.

For X'mas dinner I cooked a pot of mutton stew as main course.  Marinate the meat with salt and pepper to grill over high heat to extract fat.  Stew the meat with red wine till soft and add in carrots, radish, onions, tomatoes and tomatoe paste.  Add in seasoning and cooked till meat is tender.

Serve the dish with roasted potatoes cooked with mutton fat.  Soak up the sauce with baguettes.  The dish is rich and flavorsome.
